This project has been developed to address impacts on biodiversity arising from major renewables developments to derive additional benefits for the areas affected. The judging panel said; “This initiative has been given a Commendation because the project has enabled development that might previously have been refused because offset compensation could not be articulated. Partners have worked together to successfully implement the offset projects, and biodiversity offset projects have mainstreamed biodiversity into the planning process."
